It had been feared that Javi Martinez might have to sit out Friday night's Bundesliga clash forDie Roten, after he injured his left-foot in a training ground accident with Jerome Boateng.

Club sources, however, confirmed that the knock was minor, and the Spanish midfielder should be fit to take his place amongst the starting XI. It will be a special day for Dante, meanwhile, who lines up against his former club for the first time since completing a move at the start of the 2012-13 season.

Gladbach coach Lucien Favre may be tempted to stick with the same team that downed Mainz in the Bundesliga's last round, when goals from Juan Arango and substitute Mike Hanke helped the side to a 2-0 victory in their own stadium.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last seven Bundesliga games, winning five and drawing twice since they last tasted defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.
  • In that period, Jupp Heynckes' charges have netted 16 times, while seeing their own goal breached on just two occasions - both of those ending in 1-1 draws.
  • Thomas Muller (right) and Mario Mandzukic share the honour of top scorer for the club so far in league competition, netting nine times each in 2012-13.
  • Borussia Monchengladbach lie eighth in the German top division, having picked up 24 points from their first 16 encounters.
  • After an indifferent start to the season, Lucien Favre's men have won on five of their last nine outings, losing just once in that same period.
  • Former Swiss international Favre took over at Monchengladbach in February 2011, and after keeping his charges in the top-flight in his first season led them to a fourth-placed finish in 2011-12.
