Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche - Feb 06,2013

The Anaheim Ducks (6-1-1) will look to solidify their place atop the Pacific division when they take on the struggling Colorado Avalanche (4-5-0).
Anaheim is coming off three major wins. Last Friday they took down an upstart Minnesota Wild team 3-1 before rolling over the defending champion Los Angeles Kings 7-4. In their most recent match, the Ducks stopped the San Jose Sharks with a hard fought 2-1 victory. "It just shows we can compete with every team in the league," said defenseman Sheldon Souray. "San Jose is a great team and we played them hard last game and didn't get the results. We wanted to play hard tonight and try to get a different result, and we did that."

The Avalanche has not been able to retain a strong level of consistency. The team has alternated wins and losses in its last four games and has been unable to perform at an optimal level for a full 60 minute stretch. In its latest outing, Colorado lost 3-2 to the Dallas Stars after allowing two early first period goals. PA Parenteau has been the only consistent force on the team with five goals in his last five games.
Previous Meetings: This is the first of three meetings between the two teams. The Avalanche won three of four from Anaheim last season.
Predictions: The Ducks look unstoppable and should defeat the Avalanche 3-2.
